Whom else but our mom is the greatest mom anywhere? My mother is! Ask anyone whom my mom has spent time with. The students my mom teaches and their parents will tell you, and they would all agree she is a “MOM” to them. She has been for 20 years. She will even take her time off and take kids to events, shopping, or anything that some of those kids can’t do otherwise.Grownup boys see my mom in public and rush over to hug her and thank her for being their teacher that cared about them beyond the classroom.
Everyday she seems to have energy for her 5 kids of her own andlove all of her students and pour lots of time energy and love into all of them.
My 3 cousins who live with us now tell us all the time how much my mom is the greatest mom of all. They are right. I sometimes feel like all children do about their parents. But lately I have seen how much love my mom has. My cousins would know how much she cares. She has been a great mother to them. It amazes me how much she loves them even though they are not her biological children. She has been the mom they need. She gives above and beyond what she can really give and still manages giving up things for herself. In turn she is showing my sister and I how she loved us when we were little and how much she loves us everyday even as teenagers.
A true mom has a way of seeing those sympathetic eyes and still love enough to discipline fairly and in a way to teach a fair lesson. I can see that that is a hard job. I can see how tough her job is. Being a mom isn’t glamorous, but she does a great job and by what she does she makes herself glamorous and a mother that most kids want.
My mom can even have 5 kids and teach children all day and still volunteer to go spend time with teenagers at our church youth group in the evenings. Not all moms would be nice enough to be busy with 5 kids and still spend time outside of her day for others. She does all of this because she can honestly see everyone as her child and feel that need to mother them.
I hope I grow up to be just like my mom. She is a great role model. She cares for family, friends and strangers like a mother.
